Abstract

Physical rehabilitation is an essential component of care for patients with advanced lung disease and after lung transplantation (LT), with a proven impact on functional capacity, complications, and survival. Rehabilitation can be divided into pre-transplant, peri-transplant, and post-transplant phases. In each phase, the patient should be accompanied by a multidisciplinary team, with rehabilitation being the result of this teamwork. Physiotherapy participates in this program at all stages, contributing with assessments and respiratory and peripheral muscle exercises, with well-defined therapeutic goals.
